Setting up Documents for Sharing and Signatures

This article will cover adding documents to your library, assigning document settings, and creating packets. 

Add Documents to the Library 

The first step will be to add the documents you want to share with your clients, have clients complete, or sign to the Library menu. Follow the steps below to do so: 

1. Select the Library menu at the top of Checkpoint in the blue menu bar. 
2. Select the to add a document. 

3. Enter the Title, Activated Date, and then select the file and click add. The other fields are optional. *** if you would like your client to fill out the form, please ensure you make the form fillable BEFORE uploading to the Library. 

   
4. Repeat this step until all the documents to wish to share or obtain signature on are loaded. 

Create Settings for Documents

The next step is to add settings to your Library documents, so clients know to either fill, sign or view only. 

1. Select the settings wheel in the upper right of CP. 
2. Select Doc Types & Packets. 
3. Select the under "Document Types" to add a Library document.
4. Enter the Type Name and Activated Date. 
5. Select the Library Document you uploaded in earlier steps. 
6. If you wish for these document types to ALWAYS be "Shared with Client" or ALWAYS "Required Signature" check the boxes. ***If checked the documents will automatically be shared and request signature from client. They can be modified "on-the-fly" however when adding documents. 
7. Click Update. 
8. Repeat steps 1-7 for each Document Type you wish for the client to view, fill, and/or sign. 

Creating Packets

In addition to individual documents, you can also send the client multiple documents (packet) all at once. Follow the steps below to create a packet. 

1. Select the settings wheel in the upper right of CP. 
2. Select Doc Types & Packets. 
3. Click on under "Document Packets" to create a packet. 
4. Enter a Packet Name and move the documents to the right to put them in one packet using the arrows. Select "Update" when finished. 
5. The settings you assigned each document within the packet in earlier steps will still apply. A packet allows you to add multiple documents to a client profile at once.
