A: The system picks up "Billing Ready" sessions in Checkpoint Monday - Friday at 3:30 pm ET / 2:30 pm CT and submitted to the payers.
Q: Which sessions does Checkpoint pick up during auto-billing?
A: Only the sessions in the "Billing Ready" status are picked up and submitted when auto-billing takes place.
Q: What type of claim files does Checkpoint submit?
A: Checkpoint only sends 837 Professional claim files. Checkpoint does not send 837 Institutional claim files.
Q: Can claims be submitted outside of auto-billing?
A: Claims can be submitted outside of auto-billing by creating a manual batch or changing the session status to billing ready.
Q: What clearinghouse does Checkpoint use?
A: All payers are submitted through our clearinghouse Availity RealMed except for North Carolina Tailored Plan payers. NC Medicaid Tailored Plan payers are submitted using Integrity Support as the clearinghouse.
Q: Can auto-billing be disabled?
A: Yes. If you wish to manually bill your sessions, auto-billing can be disabled. Please reach out to us at support@checkpointehr.com to change.
