Before starting the corrected / void / replacement process the claim number will need to be copied from either the Client Sessions page or the ERA Batch Files page.
Client Sessions
- Select Clients Menu.
- Select the
icon for the client session you wish to correct/void.
- Select the $ for the session you wish to correct/void.
- Under the header "Payments" select the
to expand the section.
- Find the column header "Internal Control #" and copy the number. This is the claim number.
ERA Batch Files
- Select Billing menu -> Billing -> ERA Batch Files.
- Filter for the ERA at the top, if needed.
- Select the
of the remit the claim is located on.
- Under the header "ERA Record" section select the
to expand.
- Find the column header "Internal Control #" and copy the number. This is the claim number.
Now that the claim number is copied do the following to submit the corrected / voided / replacement claim.
- Go to Billing menu-> Billing-> Claim Batch Files.
- Select the
.
- Click on the Correct/Void claim tab.
- For the "Action" filter choose correct or void.
- Filter for the claims you'd like to correct/void.
- Paste the Claim #/Internal Control # into the "Payer Claim #" field.
- Click "Prepare Correct/Voids".
- Check to make sure the correct sessions were pulled.
- Click "Create File".
*** Corrected/Voided/Replacement claims can only be submitted via Checkpoint if ERAs are being sent to Checkpoint. If you are not receiving ERA files for a payer, please contact us at support@checkpointehr.com.
